Counsel for the Atlantic-facing economy of Lagos.
A commercial and disputes practice on the Lekki Peninsula, advising the operators, financiers, and public institutions shaping Nigeria's ports, energy assets, and coastal real estate — and the industries that move between them.
Built on the Lagos bar. Built for its next chapter.
Balogun & Okafor was founded in 2008 by counsel who had spent the previous decade on the international side of Nigerian transactions — bond issues out of London, arbitrations seated in Paris, cross-border finance closings in New York. We set out to bring that discipline home, and to a peninsula that was, at the time, still becoming what it is today.
Six practice areas. One reading of the record.
Our practice is organised around the questions our clients actually bring — a cargo held at port, a licence in the balance, a title needing perfecting before a closing on Monday. We staff for the matter, not for the department.
